We like running it to an inside shade on the guard which we get more often than not away from tight end.charliemeanshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07041991568343734517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3887802820654018134.post-82199312596040107682011-01-17T16:21:40.879-06:002011-01-17T16:21:40.879-06:00Why do you feel like you need outside zone and Tru...Why do you feel like you need outside zone and Truck?jgordon1noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3887802820654018134.post-78680399306036831242011-01-16T18:44:33.583-06:002011-01-16T18:44:33.583-06:00Thanks. In thus case we'd te and t would be down and depending on the backside shade we'd usually get playside guard and center out. We had a 2 time all-state center that was pretty good in space so we wanted to get him out if possible. I can have our oline guy get a lot more specific with you. I know vs odd stack we could get 3 pullers out. Te and playside guard down, pull by playside tackle, center and backside guard.charliemeanshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07041991568343734517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3887802820654018134.post-89679516873905857072011-01-16T14:22:20.490-06:002011-01-16T14:22:20.490-06:00Coach great post. If you got a great bubble guy and your Q throws it well, then fine but if you dont theres certainly others ways to attack those OLB's and you did a great job detailing some.

Question for you on the truck play. How do you rule it up for your OLINE. We installed this play this year. We use a TE most snaps and we'd like to run this play vs a 7 tech. However, not enough teams were giving us a 7 tech. So initially we had the TE reach a 9 teach and have the pullers read his block -- If he logged him they will get outside tight off his butt. If the TE could not reach the 9 tech he needed to run him to the sideline and then the pullers will turn inside him.

Had mixed results. By end of year we taught: FRONTSIDE: Block down if there is a threat to your inside gap (DL or LB). If no threat, then pull. 1st puller would look to kick, 2nd (&and 3rd if possible) would wrap inside for LB's. BACKSIDE: Reach cut your playside gap.

In your cuts I noticed different pullers (sometimes you got both guards, sometimes just the center ..) Curious how you taught the play to your OL.Coach Tnoreply@blogger.com
